Overview
Polypipe is looking for a seasoned and proactive Plant Manager to oversee operations at one of its major manufacturing locations in Toronto, New South Wales. This vital leadership position demands a commitment to operational excellence, safety, and high productivity within a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
Key Duties
- Manage full operational control of a 24/7 production facility running three shifts daily.
- Guarantee safe and reliable manufacturing output that meets production objectives.
- Foster a robust safety culture prioritizing zero harm to personnel.
- Plan production schedules and resource allocation efficiently across all shifts.
- Mentor, guide, and develop shift supervisors and teams to deliver superior results.
- Track critical metrics such as output volume, product quality, downtime, and yield.
- Lead initiatives focused on continuous process improvements including Lean and Kaizen methodologies.
- Coordinate maintenance workflows to minimize interruptions and enhance equipment reliability.
- Ensure adherence to workplace health and safety, environmental regulations, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with departments such as supply chain, engineering, and senior leadership to fulfill strategic business goals.
Candidate Profile
- At least five years of experience managing manufacturing plants specializing in polyethylene (PE) and/or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) products.
- Expertise in continuous, large-scale manufacturing environments with multi-shift operations.
- Demonstrated leadership in supervising large teams including shift supervisors in a 24/7 setting.
- Hands-on leadership style with strong decision-making and problem-resolution capabilities.
- Deep understanding of manufacturing workflows, plant reliability, and operational performance metrics.
- Proven track record in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement efforts.
- Strong commitment to upholding safety, quality, and operational standards consistently.
