Planning Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a Planning Engineer to join our team in Dubai for work on substation projects. The role involves developing and managing detailed project schedules, actively monitoring progress, and ensuring milestones and budgets are met efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Create baseline project schedules utilizing Primavera P6 software.
• Establish Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and define logical sequences, dependencies, and relationships between activities.
• Assign durations, resources, and cost allocations to project tasks.
• Identify and track the critical path and important milestone dates.
• Regularly update and maintain project schedules on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Monitor site progress against the planned baseline and perform delay analysis to detect slippages.
• Develop recovery schedules and mitigation strategies for delays.
• Oversee key activities and manage resource distribution effectively.
• Analyze schedule float usage and assess risks associated with the project timelines.
• Prepare a variety of reports including daily, weekly, and monthly progress updates.
• Create S-curves comparing planned versus actual progress and develop short-term look-ahead schedules (2–3 weeks).
• Deliver progress dashboards and key performance indicator (KPI) reports to management.
• Manage schedule revisions and maintain records of changes efficiently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, specifically Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical disciplines.
• Proven experience in planning and scheduling within substation projects is mandatory.
