Job description
About the Role
Seeking a Performance Marketing Manager to lead and implement the go-to-market strategy for the Middle East's foreign trade and cross-border e-commerce ecosystem, in alignment with PingPong Payments' revenue ambitions. This role centers on driving customer acquisition, engagement, and retention across diverse channels focusing especially on the small customer base comprising SMBs, freelancers, and individual entrepreneurs via a self-service business model.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute strategic marketing plans targeting the Middle East market to meet revenue goals.
- Share accountability with the customer conversion team for full business lifecycle management — customer acquisition through retention.
- Target small businesses, freelancers, and entrepreneurs mainly through self-service approaches tailored to regional markets.
- Acquire customers at scale using both online and offline strategies such as influencer campaigns, social media, affiliate marketing, SEO/SEM, and partnerships suited to the local context.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to develop support resources like videos, documentation, and FAQs to facilitate independent customer use of payment services.
- Regularly refine pricing, marketing, product, and risk strategies by analyzing customer behavior, market research, and competitive landscape to maintain competitiveness.
- Work closely with customer conversion teams to fully achieve set revenue targets.
- Enhance marketing ROI and profitability by improving content and applying viral growth tactics adapted to local user behavior.
- Contribute partially to regional brand marketing and sales team go-to-market activities.
Experience & Skills Required
- Minimum of 4 years in marketing roles within cross-border e-commerce, fintech, payments, or SaaS sectors with exposure to the Middle East.
- Demonstrated success in the Middle East market, understanding local SMB and freelancer behaviors, business culture, and digital ecosystem across countries like UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.
- Proven ability to independently shoulder revenue targets using digital marketing channels and deliver impactful results.
- Hands-on expertise in various customer acquisition channels: SEO/SEM, influencer marketing, social media, viral marketing, and offline partnerships, preferably supported with case studies from the region.
- Experience managing social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Snapchat, and TikTok, complemented by content creation skills using tools like Canva and mobile video editors.
- Strong capability in marketing to individuals and small micro-enterprises, with measurable regional success.
- Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in Google Analytics and platform-native insights to guide data-driven decision-making.
- Knowledge in lifecycle marketing techniques such as email campaigns, push notifications, in-app messaging, and customer journey mapping adapted to regional preferences.
- Fluent written and spoken English with ability to collaborate globally; Arabic knowledge is advantageous but not required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing networks among freelancer influencers, business communities, and associations across the Middle East.
- Experience securing customer acquisition through partnerships with banks, payment gateways, or e-commerce platforms.
- Background in marketing regional financial products.
- Familiarity with CRM software like Braze, HubSpot, or Salesforce is a plus.
