Role summary

This full-time position is based in Kaduna and follows a hybrid arrangement, giving some flexibility to work from home when duties allow. The Pellet Press Operator will manage pellet press machinery used to produce feed or fibre pellets according to production targets and safety requirements.

What the role involves

The operator will prepare and run the pellet press, keep a close watch on machine performance, and make adjustments to settings as needed. The role also includes checking product quality, keeping production records, and working with maintenance personnel to address faults, stoppages, or other equipment-related issues. In addition, the position requires strict compliance with standard procedures and health, safety, and environmental rules.

Collaboration and improvement

The successful candidate will work alongside supervisors and quality teams to improve output, sustain product consistency, and contribute to ongoing process improvement efforts.

Qualifications and additional requirements

• Practical capability in operating machinery and diagnosing basic equipment problems is needed to set up, run, and fine-tune pellet press equipment safely and efficiently.
• Experience or familiarity with quality inspection is important for monitoring pellets, tracking process settings, and making sure outputs meet required specifications and compliance standards.
• Knowledge of printing and pre-press processes is relevant where packaging, labels, or production documentation are involved.
• Background in manufacturing, feed milling, or other industrial production settings will be an advantage.
• The role calls for the ability to understand technical instructions, work to production plans, and observe safety procedures with careful attention to detail.
• A basic mechanical understanding and willingness to learn machine-specific operations and maintenance practices are important.
• Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are required, along with the ability to function in a hybrid work arrangement in Kaduna.
• Technical or vocational training in mechanical, industrial, or a related discipline is considered beneficial.
