Role Overview

We are seeking a meticulous Payroll Officer to join our Finance team. This position is crucial for managing accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing across the organisation’s diverse workforce, which includes remote and international employees. The role involves interpreting awards and agreements, addressing complex payroll scenarios, and enhancing payroll processes and systems in compliance with legislative requirements and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer fortnightly payroll processing for approximately 1,500 office and remote staff members.
• Maintain comprehensive employee payroll and leave documentation.
• Assist with payroll reconciliation and generate related reports.
• Address employee payroll queries promptly and professionally.
• Manage payroll updates including onboarding, terminations, and other personnel changes.
• Ensure payroll data accuracy and confidentiality.
• Support month-end payroll procedures and associated administrative duties.
• Contribute to enhancements in payroll workflows and team projects.
• Collaborate closely with Human Resources and Finance teams to guarantee payroll precision.

Candidate Profile

• Possess 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in comprehensive payroll processing.
• Familiar with payroll software and processes.
• Proficient in intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, confident in handling spreadsheets.
• Exhibit strong numerical accuracy and detail-oriented work habits.
• Demonstrate effective organizational and time management capabilities.
• Have excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Show enthusiasm for learning and advancing payroll expertise.
• Maintain professional handling of confidential information.
