About the Role
NZ Creameries invites applications for a dependable and detail-oriented Production Packing Operator to join their ice cream manufacturing team located at the East Tamaki facility. This practical, on-the-floor position plays a crucial role in daily production and packaging activities, ensuring that products are packed securely, efficiently, and meet stringent quality criteria.
Working directly under the Shift Supervisor, the operator will collaborate with a dynamic production crew to streamline the flow of products from filling stages through to shipment. The role caters to individuals who prioritize accuracy, enjoy hands-on tasks, and are adaptable to working in chilled food production settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually packing finished ice cream items into tubs, cartons, and multipacks.
- Setting up and providing necessary packing supplies, such as tubs, lids, cartons, and labels.
- Assisting with churn, filler, and production line activities when trained and required.
- Conducting standard quality assurance inspections.
- Adhering strictly to food safety protocols, along with occupational health and safety guidelines.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is reliable, attentive to safety measures, and effective in a collaborative, high-speed production environment. Critical attributes include excellent attention to detail, a positive work approach, and following guidelines meticulously.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Previous exposure to food manufacturing, dairy, FMCG, or related production settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with food safety frameworks like HACCP and GMP is advantageous.
- Steadfast work commitment with consistent attendance.
- Strong communication abilities for engaging with supervisors, technicians, and teammates.
- Capability to stand for long durations and perform repetitive manual handling tasks comfortably.
- Comfortability in working under refrigerated production conditions.
- Possession of a forklift license is beneficial but not mandatory.
