Operator - Field

Role Overview

The Operator - Field will be responsible for efficiently running and monitoring key power plant equipment such as gas turbines, steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), and auxiliary systems while following stringent safety and operational protocols.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate and continuously monitor the performance of gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, and associated support systems based on prescribed procedures and safety guidelines.
• Carry out regular equipment inspections to ensure operational stability and top performance levels.
• Strictly comply with health and safety regulations while fostering a safety-conscious environment among peers.
• Take part in safety drills and training to maintain high safety awareness.
• Support isolation activities onsite and ensure adherence to Permit to Work systems.
• Report any safety incidents promptly as part of the emergency response team.
• Use local monitoring instruments, control panels, and data acquisition tools to observe operational parameters, making sure they are within acceptable limits.
• Alert the Control Room Operator or Shift Supervisor immediately about any deviations or irregularities.
• Assist with start-up and shutdown procedures for turbines and plant systems, executing emergency protocols when necessary.
• Coordinate closely with the control room by providing live operational updates, participating in defect logging, shift handovers, and sharing vital operational information.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, visual inspections, fluid level checks, and minor adjustments to maintain equipment efficiency.
• Keep accurate and detailed records of daily operations, equipment status, incidents, and contribute to operational data analysis for identifying trends or issues.
• Proactively identify ways to improve operational reliability and efficiency while engaging in continual training to boost skills related to Siemens gas turbines and power plant operations.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Educational background: High school diploma or equivalent mandatory; technical diploma or degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering is preferred.
• Professional experience: A minimum of [X] years in power plant operations with demonstrable experience operating gas turbines, ideally Siemens models.
• Technical understanding: Familiarity with combined cycle power generation, turbine operations, and related systems.
