Job Summary

The One Guard Inspector role involves thoroughly examining vehicles for a wide range of mechanical issues and preparing detailed documentation on inspection outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough vehicle inspections covering all types of mechanical failures, including engines, transmissions, suspensions, and electrical systems.
  • Observe repair technicians during diagnoses and accurately record the findings.
  • Generate comprehensive written inspection reports via One Guard’s online platform, supported by factual data and visual evidence such as photos and videos.
  • Schedule inspection appointments by coordinating with repair facilities and inform One Guard of scheduled timings.
  • Send fluid samples to Blackstone Laboratories for further evaluation when applicable.

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years of experience working at car dealerships or as an automotive technician in aftermarket repair shops.
  • Strong skill in identifying and describing issues within engine, transmission, and other key mechanical components.
  • Familiarity with website navigation and ability to compose detailed written inspection reports.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with strong listening abilities and an enthusiastic, professional demeanor.
  • Basic computing skills and ability to work independently or collaboratively within a fast-paced setting.
  • Possession of a personal vehicle for travel to inspection sites.
  • Access to a high-definition digital camera or a modern smartphone for capturing photos.
  • Reliable computer and internet connection to upload inspection documentation.
  • Competency in interpreting automotive failures clearly and documenting them using a secure portal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as an automotive warranty claims adjuster or service advisor is advantageous.
  • Self-driven, energetic, with a customer-focused mindset and keen attention to detail.
  • Deep knowledge of automotive industry terms, manufacturer acronyms, and jargon.
  • Certifications such as ASE or factory/trade school credentials are valued.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position requires work within automotive repair shops, which may be cold, hot, noisy, and expose employees to fumes and odors inherent to vehicle maintenance activities. Physical demands include standing for extended periods, frequent stretching, walking, stooping, pushing, or pulling, and lifting up to 40 pounds. Use of safety gear like face shields, non-slip footwear, gloves, masks, and other protective equipment is necessary. Driving to and from inspection sites is also required.

Travel

Though the role is remote-based, it necessitates frequent travel to various automotive repair facilities to perform inspections.
