Model Maker

Role Overview

The Model Maker position involves producing precision machined components, operating CNC machinery, and supporting various prototyping and manufacturing processes. This role demands a conscientious approach to maintaining high safety and quality standards, record keeping, and upkeep of machines and inventory.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and service CNC equipment, optimizing setup and machining cycles to ensure superior part quality.
• Design and fabricate custom jigs, fixtures, and organization tools using CAD/CAM software such as Rhino and PowerMill.
• Assist additive manufacturing efforts by preparing and running 3D printers and integrating printed parts into production workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on projects involving fixture design, prototyping, CAM programming, and internal tooling interface mockups.
• Enhance shop organization through inventory control, tool database management, and maintenance of a clean workspace.
• Manage procurement and sourcing of materials, tools, and specialized equipment, coordinating with vendors and representatives.
• Support the development and upkeep of internal tool platforms and databases, including user interface feedback, data entry, and training documentation.
• Work alongside finishing teams to improve quality control, establish surface finish standards, and streamline post-processing activities.
• Pursue continuous professional growth through training, mentorship, and exploring advanced machining techniques and tools.
• Facilitate team communication by organizing task assignments, conducting shop tours, maintaining project documentation, and developing shared fixture libraries.

Compensation & Benefits

The compensation package includes a base salary ranging from $107,800 to $162,600, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
