Mobile Library Driver/Assistant

Role Overview

Louth County Council Library Service manages three specialized vehicles: a Mobile Library vehicle, a Schools Library Service vehicle, and a Library delivery van. The Driver/Assistant position is integral to providing accessible, excellent quality library services to various communities across County Louth.

Primary Duties

The individual in this role is accountable for the safe handling, routine upkeep, and presentation standards of library service vehicles, guaranteeing timely and dependable service delivery. This work requires traveling to numerous locations, which include community stops, schools, residential care facilities, nursing homes, houses of library users who are homebound, and other assigned points.

Customer-facing Responsibilities

As a frontline contributor within the Library Service team, the Driver/Assistant offers outstanding customer service, aids patrons in utilizing library and digital resources, encourages enrollment in library programs, and actively supports initiatives that promote community involvement.
