Role Overview
This permanent full-time position based in Southampton entails a 37.5 hour work week. The Midweight Designer will contribute creative, concept-driven design work across various media, sectors, and client needs, utilizing AI tools to accelerate creative processes while maintaining high standards of design and brand adherence.
Key Responsibilities
- Convert briefs into compelling visual designs for digital, print, social media, and campaigns.
- Develop concepts independently and implement them with a strong focus on craftsmanship, typography, and layout.
- Adapt marketing materials across various formats and channels.
- Leverage AI tools to support ideation, iteration, and efficiency while preserving brand standards.
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously, balancing speed and quality.
- Collaborate closely with creative directors, copywriters, motion and account teams to deliver aligned outputs.
- Accept and incorporate feedback constructively and iterate on designs rapidly.
- Provide informal mentorship and guidance to junior designers.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience within a creative agency environment.
- A robust portfolio demonstrating conceptual strength and excellent execution.
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Good understanding of digital best practices and accessibility principles.
- Confidence in working across diverse brand and visual identity systems.
- Experience applying AI tools within design workflows as an accelerator rather than a substitute for creativity.
- Strong decision-making in design, including judging quality, ethics, and brand risk.
- Ability to generate, refine, and heavily edit AI-assisted content confidently.
- Detail-oriented with the capacity to multitask and work efficiently under tight deadlines.
