About the Role
IN2 Engineering in Berlin is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our expanding team. This opportunity provides valuable hands-on experience designing mechanical building-services systems across various building types. It is well suited for those wishing to apply academic knowledge into real-world mechanical design and understand project development, coordination, and execution processes.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the design of systems for heating, cooling, ventilation, and plumbing.
- Contribute to engineering calculations, system sizing, and selecting suitable equipment.
- Create technical drawings, schematics, schedules, and documentation.
- Support the development of energy-efficient and low-carbon building design solutions.
- Assist with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and coordination across disciplines.
- Review architectural plans and project-related information.
- Participate actively in project meetings and design review sessions.
- Help in preparing reports, specifications, and materials for presentations.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed studies in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Energy Engineering, or related fields.
- A keen interest in building services design and sustainable construction methods.
- Fundamental knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, or HVAC concepts.
- Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, or engineering calculation tools is a plus.
- Working proficiency in English is required; German language skills are beneficial.
- Detail-minded, proactive, and eager to acquire new skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
