About the Role

In this position, you'll deliver excellent customer service aligned with Walmart's values, maintain an orderly, clean, and fully stocked meat department, and support daily sales initiatives. You'll contribute to creating an appealing and fresh shopping environment through teamwork and hands-on effort.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the meat department in a clean, orderly, and correctly zoned condition, ensuring readiness for customers at all times.
• Regularly rotate stock and remove any products that are expired or unfit for sale.
• Ensure pricing and signage for all merchandise are accurate by following established procedures for ordering, clearance, markups and markdowns, labeling, and flagging.
• Adhere strictly to food safety and cold chain protocols, including temperature monitoring, thermometer calibration, proper handling, product rotation, and compliance with sell-by and expiration dates.
• Prepare and serve deli items such as meat, cheese, and fried chicken safely using equipment like slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers.
• Comply with all health and safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic work environment.
• Demonstrate flexibility by being available for various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays, ensuring smooth store operations and consistent customer service.

Challenges to Anticipate

• Effectively managing overnight and high-volume work periods by maintaining energy and focus throughout shifts.
• Handling a fast-paced workload with efficiency to accomplish restocking and recovery tasks accurately and on time.
• Performing physical activities including prolonged standing, bending, lifting inventory or supplies up to 20 lbs (occasionally up to 50 lbs), and performing repetitive tasks with attention to detail.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage for this role is $16.45.

Minimum Qualifications
