Job description
About the Role
Join ABB to help industries operate more efficiently and sustainably. As a Material Planner, you will directly influence inventory management from purchase requisitions to customer invoicing. Reporting to the Local Sales Operations Manager, you will take complete ownership of inventory planning and internal customer service support to ensure seamless replenishment and stock management.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and manage inventory policies based on specific segmentation criteria.
- Calculate and maintain inventory parameters such as safety stock, reorder points, lot sizes, lead times, and replenishment methods within planning systems and ERP platforms.
- Coordinate material planning and convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders in partnership with operations buyers and service teams.
- Collaborate with buyers to enhance supplier performance focusing on timely deliveries, minimum order quantities, quality standards, lead times, and flexibility.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Inventory Planning, or Logistics.
- 7 to 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Process-driven mindset emphasizing standardization, streamlining, and best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication coupled with interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a strong team player capable of working independently.
- Sound understanding of supply chain fundamentals, including inventory management, demand planning, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), and Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
- APICS certification is preferred.
- Exceptional analytical and computational abilities.
- Business awareness and acumen.
- Experience with SAP APO is advantageous.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Proficient in advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools like Power BI.
