Role Overview
As a Manual QA Engineer, you will be responsible for testing newly developed features and validating bug fixes to ensure software quality. Your duties include conducting various types of testing such as functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing. You will also be expected to generate and upkeep test cases, checklists, and other quality assurance documentation.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough testing on new functionalities and confirm bug resolutions.
- Execute functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory tests to ascertain software stability.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive QA documentation including test cases and checklists.
- Analyze project requirements to establish detailed test scenarios prior to completion of development.
- Test RESTful APIs utilizing tools like Swagger or Postman.
- Validate data integrity using SQL queries.
- Replicate reported defects and collaborate with development teams to identify root causes.
- Engage in refinement meetings and participate actively in release testing phases.
- Contribute to the refinement of testing methodologies to enhance coverage and efficiency.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum of two years’ experience in manual quality assurance roles.
- Proven expertise in testing web-based applications.
- Hands-on experience working with Salesforce platform.
- Solid comprehension of software testing lifecycle processes.
- Strong skills in designing effective test cases and strategies.
- Experience in creating detailed test documentation from scratch.
- Familiarity with Jira and TestRail or comparable QA tools.
- Comfort with browser developer tools for debugging and inspection.
- Practical experience testing REST APIs.
- Basic proficiency in SQL and database testing with Postgres and MySQL.
- Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) workflows.
- Introductory understanding of Git source control.
- Effective communication with attention to detail and clarity.
- English proficiency adequate for daily interactions.
- Experience handling complex enterprise-level software applications.
Additional Preferred Skills
- Preliminary knowledge of automation testing tools like Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
- Experience working within Linux environments.
