Job Overview
This role is responsible for establishing, monitoring, reviewing, and documenting retail collections strategies specifically focused on consumer lending products. The position involves leading the development of innovative collections approaches that align with the bank’s risk appetite, prevailing market conditions, and digital transformation initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead projects focused on enhancing collection systems through data-driven, customer-focused methods that optimize recovery while balancing cost efficiency and controlling delinquency, provisions, write-offs, and recoveries.
- Conduct operational reviews of collection processes to ensure strategies are effective, keeping all stakeholders informed of performance metrics and identifying areas for improvement.
- Drive process reengineering with an emphasis on system automation to maximize efficiency.
- Recommend and spearhead strategic initiatives that improve collections capabilities aligned with the bank’s long-term growth objectives.
- Regularly update collections strategies and processes to meet portfolio performance targets, minimizing delinquency, write-offs, and default rates while enhancing recovery outcomes and customer experience.
- Define, monitor, and control key risk indicators in accordance with risk appetite and regulatory standards.
- Design and implement collection and recovery plans using multiple communication channels such as SMS, email, agency networks, banking applications, and event-driven triggers.
- Develop omnichannel collections strategies prioritizing digital-first solutions, self-service functionalities, and automated engagements to boost operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent experience in business-related fields.
- More than six years’ experience in consumer lending products, collection functions, portfolio analytics, portfolio management, and credit policy & strategic development.
Essential Skills
- Strong portfolio analysis capabilities.
- Thorough knowledge of regulatory frameworks pertaining to collections, ensuring compliance and adherence to industry standards.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex strategies and analytic results.
