Overview
The Manager of ESG Impact Reporting at MTN Ghana spearheads the execution of the company's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies. This pivotal role involves performance measurement, impact evaluation, and the production of transparent, comprehensive sustainability reports aligned with global ESG norms and regulations. Collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners, this manager ensures sustainability impacts are quantified and effectively communicated, supporting MTN’s goals for responsible business practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the rollout of MTN’s ESG Impact Analysis and Reporting initiatives across the organization.
- Assess and interpret both positive and negative outcomes of MTN’s operations affecting stakeholders such as employees, clients, communities, and the environment.
- Gather and scrutinize ESG data including carbon footprint, labor practices within supply chains, board diversity, and community involvement to generate timely insights.
- Maintain and update accurate ESG data repositories for ongoing assessments and regulatory compliance audits.
- Precisely quantify the impact of ESG initiatives across MTN Ghana’s products, services, and operations.
- Ensure reporting integrity and mitigate risks related to misleading environmental claims (greenwashing).
- Increase awareness and optimize ESG impact within the business.
- Prepare sustainability program reports for presentation to the Board, Management, MTN Group, and other relevant parties.
- Design dashboards and reports to assist Portfolio Managers in enhancing sustainability practices.
- Contribute to MTN’s ESG reports and publications consistent with Group standards.
- Support gap analysis, intervention design, and ongoing monitoring of ESG performance indicators and assurance processes.
- Track ESG metrics linked to short- and long-term incentive plans.
- Address ESG-related inquiries from Group and local stakeholders in accordance with MTN’s sustainability policies.
- Manage knowledge and data systems related to ESG in alignment with Group policies.
- Implement ESG education programs for management, employees, and suppliers to embed sustainability into the corporate culture.
- Coordinate stakeholder engagement efforts to align reporting priorities with disclosure targets and program development.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related area.
- Certification in Google Analytics and SQL is advantageous.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and Access databases.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in data analytics and reporting, including a minimum of 3 years focused on sustainability and social impact reporting within a supervisory capacity.
Technical and Professional Skills
- Expertise in ESG impact measurement and reporting processes.
- Proficient in research, data mining, and analytical methodologies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of analytics tools and business performance management.
- Experience with planning, budgeting, and project management reporting.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to analyze key performance indicators and deliver detailed reports.
