About the company and team

Shiseido Americas is part of the global Shiseido group and supports a portfolio of premium beauty and fragrance brands, including Clé de Peau Beauté, Drunk Elephant, Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare, NARS, SHISEIDO, Issey Miyake, Narciso Rodriguez, and Tory Burch. The organization is headquartered in New York City and operates across several US states, with a workforce of more than 2,000 people across the US, Canada, and Latin America. The company emphasizes diversity, collaboration, innovation, and an inclusive environment where different perspectives are valued.

The demand planning function is built around continuous improvement, operational excellence, and cross-functional teamwork across departments, brands, and business units.

Role overview

This position leads US demand planning for the Drunk Elephant brand, covering finished goods and POSM. It plays a major role in the US S&OP process and is responsible for improving demand planning practices across US domestic business units while supporting key business targets such as service levels, inventory health, excess and obsolete reduction, and forecast accuracy.

The role partners closely with commercial teams, retail partners, and e-commerce to build aligned demand consensus and execute planning processes effectively. It also requires hands-on use of SAP IBP demand planning capabilities, or future planning systems, to strengthen forecasting and collaboration across the US and global teams.

A key part of the job is building innovation forecasts at SKU-by-retailer level in monthly buckets and managing assumptions across the full launch lifecycle, from feasibility through shipment, as an input into new product development. The role also works closely with supply teams to identify future supply risks and reflect mitigation actions in the demand plan.

Key responsibilities

  • Build and review monthly forecasts for saleable goods and POSM across an 18-month horizon for the US market, using analysis for a large and complex SKU portfolio.
  • Align forecasted units with gross sales financial forecasts to validate the plan and maintain accuracy.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Planning to incorporate qualitative inputs into future demand assumptions.
  • Develop forecasts for new launches in close coordination with Marketing and Sales.
  • Track monthly forecast accuracy, explain root causes for misses, and update the forecast based on actual results.
  • Improve planning workflows by applying experience, building new capabilities, adapting to change, and comparing best practices across brands and markets.
  • Run regular demand and supply reviews for low-stock SKUs with internal stakeholders.
  • Own the Excess & Obsolete process to reduce inventory exposure, perform root-cause analysis, and drive corrective actions.
  • Support the Demand Planning Lead in monthly Executive S&OP meetings with Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Sales Operations.
  • Prepare and facilitate monthly US Demand Pre-Consensus and Consensus meetings with Marketing, Sales, and Finance.
  • Take on additional analyses and projects as required.

Requirements

  • A four-year degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent related work experience.
  • At least 8 years of demand planning experience within a supply chain setting.
  • Strong proficiency with business software such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and forecasting or scheduling tools.
  • Solid data management and analytical capability.
  • Exposure to APICS and CPIM certification is preferred.
  • Understanding of end-to-end supply chain functions and how they connect.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, including the ability to engage senior leadership.
  • A proactive, committed approach to work and projects.
  • A collaborative, energetic, and creative mindset with strong team orientation.
  • SAP Integrated Business Planning experience is an advantage.
