Position Overview
This permanent, full-time contract position is based in Auckland or Wellington and focuses on enacting our Corporate Affairs & Sustainability strategy. The role involves elevating Chorus’ public profile, fostering trust, and adding value through strong communication leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Leading a focused team of communication specialists, you’ll drive reputation management, embed purpose into the corporate image, and provide communication expertise to support important business initiatives. You will influence public perception of Chorus and fibre technology’s role in daily life.
Experience and Skills Required
- Leadership of communications, media relations or external affairs teams.
- Successful planning and execution of strategic communications efforts to build trust and reputation.
- Expertise handling media relations, especially under sensitive or high-profile circumstances.
- Providing counsel to senior executives and leaders.
- Proficient people management with focus on coaching and developing high-performance teams.
- Strong stakeholder relationship management, sound judgment for decision-making and escalation.
