Role Summary
We are looking for a motivated and skilled Maintenance Operative to join our Maintenance Team on a full-time permanent basis (39 hours per week). The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the facilities, grounds, equipment, and environment are well-maintained to promote safety, comfort, and wellbeing for residents, staff, and visitors. Flexibility is required to work any five days within a seven-day week.
Key Duties
- Maintain buildings, grounds, equipment, and furnishings to a high standard.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and servicing as planned.
- Carry out basic plumbing and electrical works within ability; report specialized issues for expert attention.
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
- Ensure that all home areas remain clean, orderly, and visually welcoming.
- Assist with the removal of waste, including clinical waste, following safety protocols.
- Use the company vehicle to transport stock and supplies like food items.
- Provide coverage as minibus driver once trained.
- Support the gardener with grounds upkeep and cover during absences.
- Maintain detailed and accurate maintenance records.
- Promptly report any hazards, faults, or unplanned repair requirements.
- Comply with health & safety, fire safety, and infection control practices.
- Carry out other related duties within the scope assigned.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in maintenance work; background in healthcare or hospitality is advantageous.
- Knowledge or awareness of fire safety protocols.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Paying close attention to detail; capable of working independently or collaboratively.
- Possession of a full clean driving license.
