Loss & Prevention Specialist

Role Overview

This role is focused on preventing losses in retail operations by conducting thorough audits and ensuring compliance with company standards. The specialist will oversee stock, cash, consumables, and documentation checks with regularity and precision, while investigating discrepancies and non-compliance cases.

Primary Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled audits across stores covering inventory, cash management, consumables, and necessary paperwork.
• Detect and communicate issues such as inventory variances, theft, or procedural deviations promptly.
• Maintain rigorous compliance with cash handling, stock movement, and billing procedures.
• Implement unannounced inspections to verify adherence to security protocols and operational guidelines.
• Analyze data on shrinkage to identify patterns and facilitate the investigation and resolution of root causes.
• Monitor surveillance footage including CCTV, manage access controls, and scrutinize sensitive transactions for signs of irregularity.
• Educate store personnel about loss prevention principles and reinforce adherence to standard operating procedures.
• Compile comprehensive audit documentation highlighting findings and tailored recommendations for improvement.
• Assist in investigation processes, collaborating closely with human resources for disciplinary measures.

• Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
• High ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Proficiency with MS Excel or Google Sheets and experience documenting audit processes.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
• Performance indicators include reduction in shrinkage percentage compared to previous audits, punctuality and accuracy of audit submissions, resolution rates for detected non-compliance, and advancement in store compliance scores.
