Position Overview

The Logistics Operations Manager oversees daily warehouse operations including inventory control, coordinating logistics, and purchasing processes to ensure smooth product flow throughout the organization. This position involves hands-on leadership—managing processes, vendor relationships, and occasionally engaging directly with shipping, receiving, fulfillment, or inventory tasks.

Reporting to the VP of Operations, this role maintains inventory accuracy, enhances warehouse workflows, handles supplier relationships, and guarantees product availability to meet consumer demand. The manager collaborates closely with Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service, Accounting, and Senior Leadership to enhance operational effectiveness and support growth.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, proactive, enjoy problem-solving in a fast-paced setting, and combine strategic thinking with on-the-floor execution. They can work independently and continuously pursue operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse activities such as shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, and inventory movement.
• Lead and support the warehouse team to ensure high performance.
• Manage inbound and outbound freight, maintain relationships with carriers, and resolve shipment issues like delays or damage.
• Maintain warehouse organization, operational efficiency, and adherence to safety standards including forklift maintenance and certification compliance.
• Drive improvements in warehouse and logistics procedures.
• Ensure inventory accuracy via cycle counts, reconciliations, and adjustments across warehouse facilities.
• Maintain proper inventory levels to meet company and customer needs, addressing discrepancies as they arise.
• Use ERP systems to track inventory and operational data accurately.
• Collaborate with Purchasing to analyze inventory trends, plan replenishments, and inform purchasing decisions.
• Manage purchasing activities including sourcing products and supplies, creating purchase orders, tracking orders, and cultivating vendor partnerships.
• Assist in price negotiations, delivery scheduling, and purchase terms to optimize costs and availability.
• Support strategic operational goals by identifying process enhancements and cost reduction opportunities.
• Work cross-functionally with various departments to ensure cohesive operations.
• Assist in building scalable operational processes and maintain performance metrics on inventory and fulfillment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in logistics, warehouse operations, inventory control, or supply chain management.
• Experience supervising warehouse or operational staff is strongly preferred.
• Highly organized with strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to multitask effectively and work independently.
• Proven experience managing freight shipments, carrier engagement, and logistics processes.
• Comprehensive understanding of inventory control and warehouse management best practices.
• Proficient with ERP platforms and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Hands-on and detail-focused approach to managing operations.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with NetSuite or comparable ERP software.
• Knowledgeable about domestic and international shipping procedures.
• Forklift certification or warehouse safety experience is advantageous.

Working Conditions

• The role involves frequent interaction with multiple teams including management, Business Development Managers, and external partners to facilitate smooth operations.
• Physical requirements include the ability to regularly lift up to 25 pounds and perform typical warehouse physical activities like standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
