About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Line Mechanic to join our Construction and Maintenance team. This role is critical for maintaining consistent and reliable electricity supply by constructing and servicing overhead lines and managing essential equipment up to 33kV.
Key Responsibilities
- Construct and maintain overhead electrical lines according to customer, project, and network standards.
- Assist in planning and executing construction, servicing, and upgrades of power lines and related equipment.
- Install and replace overhead conductors and pole structures as required.
- Overhaul non-load-bearing pole hardware on networks up to 110kV.
- Operate electrical equipment mounted on ground or structures for lines up to 33kV.
- Maintain a high level of safety, professionalism, and efficiency in all tasks.
Qualifications and Skills
- Registration as a Line Mechanic with EWRB (essential).
- Possession of a New Zealand driver’s licence (required).
- HT licence is highly desirable.
- Other relevant competencies related to the network or customers are advantageous.
- Proven hands-on experience working on overhead power lines.
- Strong adherence to safety standards with an excellent safety record.
- Dependable team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Effective communication skills, capable of working collaboratively with colleagues and customers.
- Experience in electrical maintenance and construction environments.
- Comfortable working in high-risk conditions and committed to safety procedures.
