Role Overview
The Learning and Development Manager will spearhead the creation and management of Dashiell’s learning ecosystem. This role partners with business and HR leaders to identify training needs and develop impactful learning programs aimed at employees across levels. Additionally, the manager will oversee the company's learning management system (LMS) while strategically expanding enterprise-wide training initiatives. The position is based in Houston, Texas, and reports directly to the Vice President of Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the learning management system by optimizing content structure, user administration, reporting, and compliance monitoring to enhance platform utilization.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners, business units, and executives to assess training requirements and formulate a holistic learning strategy that aligns with organizational growth.
- Design and deliver a wide array of training programs, including in-person, virtual, and e-learning courses.
- Develop leadership development initiatives aimed at equipping managers and emerging leaders with essential skills for a complex and expanding organization.
- Manage and track compliance training schedules ensuring mandatory trainings are updated and completed company-wide.
- Evaluate, select, and maintain partnerships with external training vendors and content providers to complement internal programs.
- Establish metrics and review frameworks to evaluate program effectiveness and business impact, providing reports to HR leadership and stakeholders.
- Assist in shaping onboarding programs to facilitate new hire success from their first day.
- Oversee the Learning & Development budget for efficient and cost-effective program delivery.
- Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Instructional Design, Human Resources, Education or related fields; alternatively, a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is accepted without a degree.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in Learning and Development or related HR roles.
- Proven expertise in managing learning management systems, with strong preference for Cornerstone OnDemand experience.
- Experienced in crafting and implementing leadership development and management training programs.
- Certifications such as CPTD, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or equivalent are favored.
- Skilled in instructional design with ability to create content across various training formats including instructor-led training, virtual sessions, e-learning, and microlearning modules.
- Excellent facilitation and presentation abilities capable of engaging diverse audience levels.
- Competent project management to balance multiple initiatives concurrently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with e-learning authoring tools like Articulate or Adobe Captivate preferred.
- Ability to analyze learning data to derive actionable business insights.
- Willingness to occasionally travel to company offices and project locations.
Physical and Environmental Conditions
- Capability to sit for extended periods during computer-based work.
- Intermittent standing and walking throughout the day.
- Occasional lifting of items up to 20 pounds.
- May require travel to various office or meeting locations.
- Work primarily takes place in a climate-controlled office environment with some exposure to industrial sites on site visits.
