About the role

This position focuses on technical leadership across well surveillance, production planning, production improvement, and non-routine activities for subsea wells and associated infrastructure. The role supports offshore production operations by diagnosing issues in subsea production systems and providing practical methods to prevent or resolve them.

Core responsibilities

  • Support well surveillance, production planning, production optimization, and special operations for subsea wells and infrastructure.
  • Investigate subsea production system issues and respond quickly with workable solutions for the subsea operations team.
  • Use flow assurance tools such as OLGA, PVT, WellFlo, and PSS to run technical studies and prepare detailed findings for management.
  • Create, schedule, and execute flow assurance assessments across the field production lifecycle, and provide planning inputs to leadership.
  • Build field surveillance approaches to support production planning, including analysis of well performance, intervention needs, system bottlenecks, and production forecasts.
  • Work closely with reservoir management, offshore operations, well operations, flow assurance teams, and gas consumers to gather inputs and update weekly production plans.
  • Assess production processes and well performance to improve recovery over the life of the field, and recommend ways to raise productivity or reduce downtime.
  • Handle water, condensate, and sand production concerns through inflow/outflow modeling, nodal analysis, and troubleshooting of liquid loading, hydrate formation, and unloading problems.
  • Carry out sand and solid transport studies for subsea oil and gas pipelines.
  • Run sensitivity studies using steady-state and transient simulation models for wells, pipelines, risers, and pressure-boosting equipment, including OLGA, PIPESIM, and What-If scenarios.
  • Review work-over practices and suggest improvements, while helping define and maintain production technology standards and best practices.
  • Lead, coach, and support direct-report team members, and evaluate Production Technology team performance for input to the HOD.
  • Set KPIs to track production planning, optimization, and recovery performance.
  • Use the offline PSS simulator for special operations and document the outputs clearly.
  • Compile data, reports, presentations, charts, forecasts, and monthly or special-purpose updates on production status, planning, and simulation results.
