Job description

About the Company

Scribd, Inc. is dedicated to enhancing human understanding through its products: Scribd, Slideshare, Everand, and Fable. These platforms serve billions of users, facilitating the transition from mere access to deep insight and expertise.

Culture & Work Environment

Scribd fosters an environment where authenticity and boldness are encouraged. Team members are expected to pursue long-term goals with perseverance, actively debate and commit to decisions, and take initiative with a strong customer focus. The company values a workstyle that blends individual flexibility with essential in-person collaboration, requiring occasional onsite presence for all employees regardless of their location.

Position Overview

As the pioneering Lead Product Manager for AI Developer Platform, you will play a central role in driving the internal AI transformation at Scribd. You'll be responsible for shaping the developer platform, focusing on enabling agent-based engineering and supporting cross-functional expansion of AI practices. Collaborating closely with Engineering, Product, Data, and other teams, you will guide the development of tools and platforms that allow every function at Scribd to leverage AI productively and confidently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Unify and coordinate all in-progress AI initiatives into a cohesive enablement roadmap, clarifying shared versus function-specific infrastructure and trade-offs for leadership.
  • Lead product strategy for the internal application and agent platforms, ensuring these systems meet diverse departmental needs in partnership with engineering teams.
  • Serve as a bridge between departmental stakeholders and platform capabilities, translating workflow needs into actionable requirements and facilitating adoption of new tools.
  • Ensure alignment and progress across major infrastructure components, proactively managing dependencies and addressing risks of fragmentation.
  • Define and measure success metrics such as adoption rates, throughput, time savings, and impact—regularly reporting to leadership and championing buy-in across the organization.
  • Plan and execute internal rollouts with the same rigor as external product launches, including user education and structured feedback collection.

Candidate Profile

If you thrive on ambiguous, high-impact, cross-functional challenges in a rapidly evolving tech landscape, and are motivated by the organizational transformation AI can deliver, this role is for you. You should possess a strong technical background, particularly in products for developers or AI platforms, and an ability to partner deeply with engineering leadership. Comfort with defining new roles, change management, and ambiguous priorities is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Over 7 years of hands-on product management experience, with a substantial focus on developer tools, AI platforms, or productivity solutions.
  • Proven record of full ownership of complex, cross-department products—including defining strategies, sequencing projects, and partnering directly with engineering.
  • Practical experience deploying products utilizing modern AI or LLM components such as agent workflows, plugin ecosystems, or comparable technologies.
  • Strong technical understanding of system design, APIs, architecture, and evaluation methodologies.
  • Experience providing strategic technical guidance and roadmap input at the leadership level.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to move fluidly between technical discussions, strategic planning, and executive briefings.
  • Proactive and effective in situations with evolving priorities and undefined scopes.

Preferred/Bonus Experience

  • Background in engineering, technical program management, or applied AI, with experience shipping production code.
  • Experience as a PM, technical lead, or founder in developer tooling, AI platforms, or scaling productivity products.
  • Direct familiarity with agentic coding environments such as Claude Code, Codex, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of multi-product subscription business operations, and tech stacks involving Ruby, Go, TypeScript, Python, AWS, or Databricks.
  • Initiating new functions or defining PM roles within organizations.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary range in Canada: CAD 179,000–228,000 (adjusted via experience, location, and role level)
  • Equity grants and retirement matching
  • Health, dental, vision, and mental health support
  • Flexible work model (Scribd Flex)
  • Generous PTO: vacation, holidays, sick days, winter break, volunteer time, and sabbaticals
  • Paid parental leave and family care benefits
  • Home office and wellness stipends
  • Comprehensive professional development and learning opportunities
  • Complimentary company product access and enterprise AI tool licenses

Additional Information

  • Position is open to candidates located within or near Vancouver, Toronto, or Ottawa (Canada), as well as select US cities.
  • Scribd, Inc. is committed to workplace accessibility and diversity, encouraging applications from all backgrounds. Reasonable interview process adjustments are available upon request.
  • Personal information provided in the application process is protected under Scribd’s Employee and Applicant Privacy Policy.
