Overview

The role focuses on overseeing all mechanical maintenance activities for turbines and auxiliary equipment at the Raipur thermal power plant. The incumbent will design and implement strategic maintenance plans to ensure safety, reliability, quality, and cost efficiency.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the element owner for welding, gas cutting and as an IST member for machine guarding.
  • Conduct audits to identify unsafe conditions for Units 1 to 5, provide job-specific training, and perform scheduled safety inspections.
  • Prepare detailed presentations and maintain records of audit findings.
  • Ensure safe working conditions regarding working at heights, confined spaces, and other high-risk areas, including issuing permits and participating in health and safety meetings.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and review job safety analyses (JSA).
  • Administer penalties to colleagues and contractors based on occupational health and safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Station Management to provide vision and leadership, guiding personnel towards achieving business objectives.
  • Lead the turbine and auxiliary maintenance team by setting strategic direction for safe, efficient, and cost-effective plant maintenance.

  • Proficient in maintenance of rotary equipment such as turbines, boiler feed pumps (BFP), circulating cooling water (CCCW) pumps, auxiliary cooling water (ACW) pumps, lube oil pumps, condensate extraction pumps (CEP), and seal oil pumps.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and performance optimization of steam turbines (660 MW units) including high pressure valves, piping, and Digital Electro-Hydraulic (DEH) systems.
  • Familiarity with SAP software for maintenance management.
  • Manpower management skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Essential: Bachelor of Engineering/Technology in Mechanical Engineering.
