About the Role
RIOS is a globally recognized design group dedicated to inspiring innovation in built environments through interdisciplinary collaboration across architecture, placemaking, landscape architecture, and experience design. The Landscape Designer I position is an entry-level role focused on supporting design teams in ideation, visualization, technical documentation, and project development. This role emphasizes foundational skill building in sustainable design, project delivery, and teamwork within a hybrid work setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in creative design activities including concept development, modeling, drafting, and visualization across all stages of projects.
- Assist in crafting graphics, renderings, presentations, and preliminary technical documentation aligned with project objectives.
- Effectively communicate design concepts through visual, written, and oral presentations.
- Contribute original ideas and actively participate in team meetings and project discussions.
- Carry out research and precedent analyses, including investigations into sustainability and technical explorations.
- Help maintain organized project files, documentation, and collaborative platforms.
- Support digital modeling and development of presentation materials to aid project teams.
Candidate Requirements
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or similar professional background.
- Up to three years of professional experience in landscape architecture.
- Proficiency in software such as Revit, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), with an understanding of BIM workflows preferred.
- Experience with design tools like Lumion, Grasshopper, Dynamo, or SignAgent is advantageous.
- Strong design intuition paired with enthusiasm for creative and innovative work.
- Excellent visual communication and graphic skills.
- Good organizational, time management, and self-motivational capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in collaborative, interdisciplinary environments and foster a positive workplace culture.
- Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills along with dedication to sustainable design principles.
- Motivation to learn project documentation standards, BIM workflows, and file management best practices.
