Role Overview
The position available is for a Junior Urban Computational Designer based at the London headquarters, with some hybrid work flexibility. This role is a six-month fixed-term contract within the Masterplanning department, focusing on supporting architectural and urban design projects. The junior designer will be involved in developing and troubleshooting computational tools and coding scripts to optimize complex workflows in architecture and masterplanning.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute tasks assigned by the Computational Urban Designer.
- Contribute to computational advancement by developing low-code and visual programming solutions that enhance complex architectural and engineering workflow efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to identify opportunities for computational integration and ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide technical training and ongoing support regarding computational tools and scripts to the broader team.
- Help define and incorporate long-term computational design innovations into active projects.
- Investigate, document, and implement innovative computational approaches and workflow solutions.
- Monitor emerging technologies and trends in computational design to discover new development possibilities.
- Assist in automating documentation processes and integrating diverse workflows within projects.
- Present findings and developments clearly concerning computational workflows.
Candidate Profile
- Holds at least a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline focused on computational design.
- Possesses preferably a minimum of two years’ industry-related experience.
- Has knowledge of incorporating emerging technologies into Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) project delivery.
- Experience working with coding languages such as Revit API, Dynamo, Grasshopper, C#, Python, C++, JavaScript, and SQL, either fully or partly.
- Competency in primary design software like Revit, Civil 3D, Rhino, or ArcGIS.
- Exemplifies strong organisational abilities to effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Thrives in collaborative teamwork environments.
- Displays robust problem-solving skills alongside sound judgment and discretion.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal capabilities and professional relationship-building skills.
- Communicates effectively in both oral and written forms.
