About the Role

Join GLS IT Services GmbH in Eschborn as a Junior Information Security Specialist to support the Security Governance team with various information security responsibilities within the GLS Group. This full-time position involves aiding in the operation of key security procedures, maintaining relevant documentation, and ensuring adherence to both internal and external standards. It's an excellent opportunity to build foundational expertise in information security while collaborating with seasoned colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with running and upkeep of the Group-wide Information Security Management System (ISMS) aligned with ISO 27001 and regulatory requirements.
  • Help implement and document information security policies, standards, and guidelines.
  • Maintain and update information within the Group-wide Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) and Information Security Risk Management platforms under supervision.
  • Support execution of the Information Security Risk Management process, including data gathering and monitoring follow-ups.
  • Participate in basic security risk evaluations and aid in compiling associated reports.
  • Contribute to generating information security key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, and reports.
  • Help prepare materials for Information Security Steering Committees and other governance meetings.
  • Support compliance verifications related to NIS2.0 and other internal/external requirements.
  • Contribute to security awareness initiatives, including conducting campaigns and phishing simulations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Completed academic background in computer science, business informatics, information security, or related fields; internships or working student experiences are advantageous.
  • Some experience (0–2 years) in information security, IT governance, IT audit, or risk management.
  • Basic knowledge of ISO 27001, security governance principles, or NIS2 standards.
  • Interest in expanding expertise in risk management, compliance, and ISMS operations.
  • Familiarity with GRC or IT risk management tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical abilities, precise documentation, and effective communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English; command of German is beneficial.
  • High enthusiasm for learning, optimizing procedures, and fostering a robust security culture.
