Janitor - Full Time

SSC Services for Education is currently seeking full-time Janitors to maintain cleanliness and orderliness within educational facilities. This position, located primarily at Hamilton SE Custodial - 12876 Promise Road, Fishers, IN 46038, with openings in other district locations, requires commitment to a clean, safe learning environment. Job Summary

The core responsibility is to keep school buildings clean and orderly through thorough cleaning tasks including floor care, carpet shampooing, wall and glass washing, and proper trash disposal.

Primary Responsibilities

• Collect and discard trash properly in line with infection control protocols.
• Perform dusting and damp mopping of floors following set procedures.
• Relocate equipment and furniture for cleaning, ensuring correct repositioning afterward.
• Sanitize all assigned areas using designated materials and adhere to an eight-step cleaning routine.
• Clean walls, windows, furniture, baseboards, and other surfaces to uphold safety and cleanliness for students, staff, and visitors.
• Identify additional cleaning needs proactively and complete assigned tasks diligently.
• Comply with federal, state, and local guidelines in all performed duties.
• Perform floor maintenance including stripping, scrubbing, buffing, refinishing, and carpet shampooing.
• Work collaboratively with team members demonstrating professionalism towards colleagues and customers.
• Fulfill additional duties as directed by supervisors.

Work Schedule

Positions are full-time with schedules such as Monday through Friday from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm or Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 pm to 7:00 am. Flexibility is available to meet various scheduling requirements.

Requirements

• Preferred experience of at least one year in janitorial or custodial work.
