IT Security Engineer

Job Overview

The IT Security Engineer role involves the responsibility of creating, implementing, and managing policies and protocols that safeguard the organization's IT infrastructure against diverse cyber threats. This position entails delivering advanced cyber threat solutions and developing techniques to protect network systems from unauthorized access and breaches.

Key Responsibilities

• Possess over 7 years of experience in technical support roles.
• Expert in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting firewall systems, notably Fortinet devices.
• Manage Web Application Firewalls (WAF) such as Forti WAF to secure web applications.
• Administer enterprise-class antivirus and endpoint protection platforms.
• Set up, maintain, and operate email security gateways like FortiMail.
• Implement and maintain Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) models within the network.
• Deploy and integrate Network Access Control (NAC) solutions.
• Oversee centralized authentication mechanisms including TACACS+ and RADIUS.
• Possess advanced expertise in intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
• Carry out security audits, vulnerability evaluations, and compile compliance documentation.
• Have proficiency in cloud networking technologies including VPN gateways, virtual network peering, and cloud firewall services.
• Prepare and update technical documents including architectural diagrams and operational workflows.
• Hold Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Security certification.
• Additional certification in Fortinet NSE levels 5, 6, 7 or higher is desirable.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 7 years of pertinent work experience in IT security roles.
