Role Overview
Seeking an accomplished investment professional to lead private company valuations, contribute to comprehensive portfolio analyses, and transform detailed financial assessments into polished and clear decision-making presentations.
Key Responsibilities
- Take charge of valuing private companies employing relevant financial and market evaluation techniques.
- Develop, scrutinize, and enhance intricate Excel-based valuation models.
- Evaluate company operations, forecasted finances, capital configurations, peer companies, and corresponding transaction data.
- Analyze primary assumptions, sensitivity scenarios, valuation margins, and investment risks involved.
- Examine investment policy documents to detect gaps, contradictions, or improvement opportunities.
- Assist in portfolio-wide analysis covering both public and private asset categories.
- Carry out market research, maintaining meticulous records of data sources and hypotheses used.
- Translate analytic results into succinct presentations for senior management.
- Create straightforward trade and investment paperwork as needed.
- Ensure consistency and readiness of financial models, conclusions, and presentation materials for decision-making.
- Integrate structured feedback from senior reviewers promptly and effectively to refine deliverables.
Candidate Profile
- Approximately 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in investment banking, private equity, family offices, or investment management roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in private company valuation, financial modeling, investment evaluation, and transaction processes.
- Advanced Excel skills capable of producing comprehensive and auditable financial models.
- Experience crafting materials for investment committees, board meetings, or analogous high-level presentations.
- Strong familiarity with valuation methods including comparable companies analysis, precedent transactions, and discounted cash flow techniques.
- Ability to work with market data exports, financial statements, portfolio details, and incomplete datasets.
- Familiarity with investment policies or institutional portfolio guidelines is advantageous.
- Possession of an MBA, finance-focused master’s degree, or CFA credential is preferred but not mandatory.
- Exceptional written communication abilities paired with meticulous attention to detail.
- Comfort and experience in having analytical judgments reviewed and calibrated among seasoned investment experts.
- Previous exposure to AI evaluation, financial assessments, or projects involving human-data integration is a beneficial addition.
