Role Overview

We are seeking an Inventory & Purchasing Coordinator to join our dynamic engineering environment. This role is crucial in ensuring our teams receive the correct parts, materials, and equipment promptly to maintain seamless development, testing, and production processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure electronic components, hardware, raw materials, workshop equipment, and consumables.
• Handle purchasing processes, including transaction management, credit card reconciliations, and invoice processing.
• Coordinate international shipping logistics and manage New Zealand Customs clearance procedures.
• Receive, inspect, and process incoming deliveries to maintain quality and accuracy.
• Maintain detailed inventory records, perform stocktaking, and ensure availability of critical parts.
• Organise domestic and international freight for shipments related to customer orders, tests, and production needs.
• Collect materials from local suppliers when necessary.
• Assist with operational tasks such as preparing equipment for field tests and other hands-on activities.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate thrives behind-the-scenes, supporting engineering teams through effective organisation and attention to detail. They are dependable and adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Experience in areas such as purchasing, inventory management, logistics, stores, or supply chain within manufacturing, workshop, or technical contexts.
• Excellent organisational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to juggle various demands efficiently without compromising accuracy.
• A proactive, hands-on attitude ready to engage with diverse operational responsibilities.
• Possession of a valid Full New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Familiarity with inventory management systems or methods such as Kanban, Min/Max, ERP, or MRP platforms.
• Experience in import processes and managing international freight operations.
• Background working in engineering sectors like aerospace, robotics, or advanced manufacturing.
