Role Overview
The Inventory Officer is charged with the strategic oversight and implementation of inventory management processes, including stock control, product distribution, asset valuation, and registry through a dedicated inventory management system.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee inventory processes to maintain optimum stock levels, ensure safety stock, minimize waste, and adhere to ISO, Department of Health, and internal standards.
- Collaborate closely with Procurement, Logistics, Finance, Quality Assurance, and Facilities departments to streamline sourcing, order delivery, inventory accuracy, and the safe management of chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Ensure precise recording of inventory data in the ERP system, perform stock reconciliations, and compile regular inventory reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Handle end-user requisitions, manage purchase requests, and track purchase orders to guarantee continuous laboratory functionality.
- Assist with import-export operations compliant with company and regulatory policies and offer backup support for logistics when necessary.
- Undertake other duties as delegated by the line manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent credential.
- Effective communication and interpersonal capabilities.
- At least two years of relevant experience in inventory management, logistics, supply chain, procurement, or customer service; familiarity with healthcare or biomedical sectors is advantageous.
- Fundamental understanding of procurement, inventory control, warehouse management, and logistics operations.
