Intelligence Specialist - Operations Support

Position Summary

This role serves as the readiness officer and subject matter expert for readiness policy, tracking, and analysis within the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) and Army Cyber Command. The Intelligence Specialist is responsible for managing Cyber and Military Intelligence readiness, coordinating related activities, and providing strategic recommendations to senior leadership. This position also entails planning and integrating force management and sourcing operations for the commands.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the INSCOM/Army Cyber Command S-3 Readiness Officer focusing on readiness policy and analysis.
• Serve as the proponent for AR 220-1 and expert on readiness reporting standards within the S-3 division.
• Provide expertise on readiness research related to Cyber and Military Intelligence systems and equipment.
• Coordinate and integrate Cyber and Military Intelligence readiness efforts across headquarters and subordinate battalions.
• Advise the G-3 command on cyberspace operational capabilities and intelligence warfighting functions.
• Support as a planner and integrator for force management and intelligence sourcing.
• Synchronize readiness initiatives with divisions, branches, and organizational directives.
• Analyze and report current Cyber and Military Intelligence readiness to inform leadership decisions.
• Collaborate with staff elements and divisions to execute integration and force management tasks.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Appointment contingent upon suitability and fitness determinations via completed background investigations.
• Mandatory passing of urinalysis drug screening prior to and during employment under AR 600-85.
• Successful completion of counterintelligence-scope polygraph examinations pre-appointment and periodically thereafter with No Deception Indicated.
• Ability and willingness to engage in extended temporary duty travel (up to 25%) and worldwide deployments during crisis situations.
• Position classified as Non-Combat Essential but may be relocated globally during heightened military tensions.
• Must sign DD Form 2365 affirming capability to maintain fitness standards for austere and stressful combat environments.
• Position designated Mission Essential; incumbent must reliably maintain duty presence during emergencies and crises.
• Eligibility limited to current civilian employees of the command.
• Specialized experience: Minimum one year of intelligence-related security work at GG/GS-12 federal grade level involving Cyber Intelligence readiness tracking, analysis, and reporting with operational planning alignment.
• Experience must reflect progressively responsible roles encompassing intelligence research, analysis, collection, operations, and threat support relevant to this specialty.
• Knowledge expected in intelligence cycles, analysis systems, research tools, and intelligence data methodologies.

Additional Information

• Two-year trial period to assess fitness and contribution to agency goals, with continuation dependent on performance and organizational needs.
