Hygiene Officer

Role Overview

The Hygiene Officer is responsible for overseeing and ensuring that food safety and hygiene standards are strictly followed within the workplace. This role involves supervision, coordination, and advisory duties to maintain compliance with relevant hygiene protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor food handling procedures and conduct training sessions on food hygiene for new employees and trainees.
• Identify critical risk areas within food operations and implement preventative corrective measures.
• Provide expert advice regarding product labeling to meet regulatory requirements.
• Support management with staffing functions including hiring, scheduling, performance evaluations, counseling, discipline, motivation, and coaching of staff members.
• Adhere to all internal safety and security policies, report accidents, unsafe conditions, and maintenance needs promptly.
• Ensure personnel maintain professional appearance and confidentiality of company information.
• Attend to guest service requirements professionally and contribute positively to team objectives through effective communication and collaboration.
• Perform physical tasks as necessary, including standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, and other related duties assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor's degree in Environmental Health or Culinary from an accredited institution is preferred.
• Between 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience in food safety or hygiene roles.
• Minimum of one year supervisory experience.
• Professional certification or license pertinent to hygiene or food safety is required.
