Role Overview
This position functions within the Data Intelligence Unit, balancing core data analyst duties with support responsibilities for the Data Science team across racing and sports domains. The role requires delivering reports, creating dashboards, and conducting analyses collaboratively with the analyst team. Additionally, it provides coverage for the Lead Data Scientist during absences or peak workload periods and absorbs extra capacity when multiple B2B Data Science projects coincide.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and maintain reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses for internal and external stakeholders aligned with team priorities.
- Provide backup support for the Lead Data Scientist to mitigate operational risks.
- Manage overflow demands during concurrent B2B Data Science initiatives to ensure continuous analyst team productivity.
- Support production activities related to the SiQ platform, including manual executions and maintenance of Python scripts.
- Assist in testing and validating new or revised Data Science models under guidance.
- Maintain direct communication channels with Racing, Sports, and B2B stakeholders regarding data requests, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide data standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated strong analytical capabilities with proficient SQL skills for data querying and manipulation.
- Advanced competence in Excel for comprehensive reporting, tracking, and in-depth analysis.
- Familiarity or rapid adaptability to Python programming.
- Ability to transition smoothly between structured analyst responsibilities and exploratory data science challenges.
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to statistical modeling or data science methodologies.
- Experience with AWS services such as CloudWatch, Batch Jobs, and Step Functions or other cloud-based data platforms.
- Interest or background in sports or racing data analytics.
