About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Specialist to manage key administrative and operational functions that support the smooth running of HR departments, people operations teams, or HR shared-services centers. This role demands hands-on involvement in vital HR workflows, ensuring compliance and efficient processing within the employee life cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage onboarding activities including new hire integration, offer and contract processing, I-9/E-Verify compliance, and HRIS data maintenance.
- Administer benefits encompassing enrollment periods, qualifying life events, leave of absence processes (e.g., FMLA/ADA), and COBRA management via carrier and broker portals.
- Oversee payroll and timekeeping duties including payroll processing, handling deductions, garnishments, corrections, and off-cycle payments.
- Perform compensation operations and reconciliation such as payroll register and general ledger alignment, benefits invoice review, and ensuring accurate crediting for pay cycles.
- Coordinate vendor relationships and compliance operations, including management of benefits brokers and carriers, HRIS vendor configurations, EEOC/ACA/state reporting, unemployment claim processing, and audit preparations.
- Maintain HR records and support day-to-day people operations by managing personnel files, document handling, release of information requests, and general HR office functions.
Candidate Requirements
- At least three years of active, daily hands-on experience in an HR administrative or people-operations back-office position.
- Direct system experience with HRIS/HCM platforms such as Workday, ADP, UKG, Paycom, BambooHR, Rippling, or Gusto, including payroll systems, benefits administration portals, and applicant tracking or onboarding tools.
- Currently employed in an HR administrative capacity.
- Residency in the United States.
