Position Summary

Reporting to the Area HR Manager, the Human Resources Assistant Manager supports a variety of HR functions such as payroll administration, timecard compliance, and personnel file management. This role works closely with multiple stakeholders to facilitate employee relations and recruitment efforts within retail store locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Area HR Manager on employee relations and staffing goals.
  • Handle administrative HR duties including report processing, policy adherence, and procedure management.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding leaves, paid time off, and workers' compensation.
  • Assist with recruitment activities, employee interviews, investigations, disciplinary processes, and provide HR support at store level.
  • Partner with store managers, HR teams, training departments, and payroll functions.
  • Provide training sessions for HR Associates on HR policies, employment laws, recruitment, and related processes.
  • Guide Store Managers in workforce planning strategies.
  • Manage recruitment channels by fostering relationships with external organizations and institutions to generate candidate flow.
  • Utilize various talent acquisition methods including job fairs, on-site recruiting events, and competitive talent scouting.
  • Follow up on employment processes such as form completion, orientation, and communication of new hire start dates.
  • Assist in posting and updating job vacancies on internal and external platforms.
  • Support projects and initiatives as assigned by leadership.
  • Provide assistance across multiple store locations as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1-2 years of relevant HR administrative experience, retail experience favored.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and HRIS; familiarity with Workday is highly desirable.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Capable of maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound knowledge of HR policies, employment laws, recruitment strategies, and EEOC guidelines.
  • Flexible to work varied schedules including evenings and weekends.
  • Willing to travel 10-25% as required.

Compensation
