Role overview
This position leads the people function for a fast-moving, growth-oriented organization. The HR Director owns the full HR agenda, from recruiting and employee support to compensation, compliance, development, and organizational planning. The role is both strategic and hands-on, partnering closely with leadership while also staying involved in day-to-day employee and business needs.
What you will do
- Work with executive leadership to shape and execute people strategies that align with business priorities.
- Advise on organizational design, workforce planning, and broader talent initiatives.
- Guide change management efforts in an environment that evolves quickly.
- Create, track, and analyze HR metrics and workforce data to inform decisions.
- Direct end-to-end hiring efforts to attract and retain strong candidates.
- Design sourcing approaches that support hiring goals in a competitive market.
- Strengthen onboarding experiences to improve engagement and retention.
- Develop succession planning and leadership growth programs.
- Help build an inclusive, positive, and high-performing culture.
- Support employee relations matters, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
- Oversee performance review cycles and employee development programs.
- Coach managers on effective leadership and engagement practices.
- Manage compensation structures, pay administration, and benefits programs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Maintain, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures.
- Support risk reduction efforts tied to employment practices and workplace investigations.
- Identify training needs and roll out employee development initiatives.
- Support leadership development and career progression efforts.
- Promote continuous learning and professional growth across the organization.
- Improve HR systems, processes, and technology where needed.
- Manage HR budgets and vendor relationships.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
- Continuously review HR operations to improve efficiency and scalability.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- At least 8 years of progressive HR experience, including leadership responsibility.
- Strong understanding of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with employee relations, recruiting, and performance management.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving, organization, and decision-making abilities.
Preferred qualifications
- Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR, or PHR certification.
- Background supporting multi-site operations or high-growth companies.
- Experience with HRIS implementation or optimization.
