Role Overview

This senior leadership position demands visionary and hands-on management to build and scale the autonomous vehicle fleet operations from scratch. The Head will develop the organizational framework, standard operating procedures, and cultural ethos to operate the fleet safely and efficiently, recruiting and guiding teams in Vehicle Maintenance, Command Center Operations, and Field Service. This role requires creating operational playbooks, managing decision frameworks, and spearheading autonomous fleet launches in new markets, reporting directly to the global GM of Autonomous.

Key Responsibilities

  • Structure the organization and craft SOPs and operational playbooks for the entire fleet lifecycle.
  • Control P&L and resource planning, including headcount, facilities, and budgeting for vehicle acquisition and maintenance.
  • Supervise the complete AV fleet lifecycle to maximize uptime and maintain optimal vehicle condition.
  • Set up preventative maintenance, cleaning, and charging/refueling schedules.
  • Lead a round-the-clock Command Centre monitoring the fleet in real time and managing automated dispatching.
  • Develop and implement crisis response protocols ensuring swift collaboration between field teams, legal, and public relations during on-road incidents.
  • Establish scalable recruitment and training systems for Safety Operators and Field Engineers.
  • Manage workforce rostering, shift planning, and performance for a geographically distributed team.
  • Cultivate a "Safety First" culture with strict compliance and regulatory adherence across all field operations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years work experience, with at least 3 years in autonomous vehicle operations or fleet management.
  • Proven expertise in founding teams and operational processes from the ground up, such as launching new markets or logistics hubs.
  • Experience leading sizeable distributed teams (30+ members) including hourly and shift-based workers.
  • Knowledge of safety management systems and transportation regulatory compliance.
