Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Group Financial Controller to lead the financial direction and operations of a growing group of companies headquartered in Harare, Zimbabwe. This pivotal senior leadership role offers the chance to influence the group's financial outcomes, enhance internal controls, boost operational efficiency, and back strategic expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the overall financial strategy for the group while managing all financial operations.
- Lead the consolidation process of group accounts, oversee external auditing procedures, treasury functions, risk assessment, and compliance management.
- Supervise financial reporting activities, budget preparation, forecasting, and management of cash flows.
- Implement and maintain internal controls and financial policy frameworks across multiple countries within the group.
- Oversee ERP system usage, including financial systems integration, automation initiatives, and real-time financial reporting enhancements.
- Manage intercompany financial transactions and formulate currency exchange policies.
- Identify and act on opportunities to increase financial and operational efficiencies throughout the group.
- Provide insightful strategic financial advice and reports to senior management teams.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and operations teams to foster growth and capability.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline.
- Professional certifications such as Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) are highly preferred.
- At least 10 years of practical experience in finance roles, including a minimum of 5 years in senior managerial positions.
- Strong experience in group-level financial consolidation and reporting processes.
- Demonstrated expertise in treasury management, risk controls, regulatory compliance, and internal control systems.
- Excellent analytical thinking, strategic planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working in technology or related industries is considered beneficial.
Employment and Location
This full-time role is based onsite in Harare, Zimbabwe, requiring work from the office.
