About the Role
We are looking for a recent graduate in Data Analytics or a related quantitative discipline to join our team as a Graduate Data Analyst. This entry-level position is designed for individuals eager to begin their career in analytics and business intelligence. You will engage in data analysis, visualization, reporting, and help drive data-driven decision-making in the organisation. No prior industry experience is necessary as comprehensive training and mentoring will be provided to build your skills in this field.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, cleanse, validate, and analyse data sourced from various business domains.
- Detect trends, recognize patterns, and extract actionable insights through analytical methods.
- Create and maintain dashboards and reports using Business Intelligence software.
- Write SQL queries to retrieve, manipulate, and analyse datasets.
- Design visual presentations of business metrics and KPIs to aid comprehension.
- Support data quality control, governance standards, and validation checks.
- Assist with forecasting, trend evaluation, and compiling performance reports.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to gather reporting and analysis needs.
- Document the methodologies used in analysis and the steps followed in reporting.
- Communicate findings effectively to both technical teams and non-technical audiences.
- Help automate routine reports and streamline data workflows when possible.
- Stay informed about new analytics tools and evolving industry practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, IT, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- Recent graduate or up to one year of professional experience.
- Strong analytical thinking, numeric aptitude, and ability to solve problems.
- Fundamental understanding of statistics, data analysis techniques, and reporting processes.
- Basic proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts.
- Competent with Microsoft Excel for data tasks.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Keen attention to detail coupled with good organisational skills.
- Capacity to operate both independently and as part of a team.
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and analytical tools.
Preferred Skills
- Entry-level knowledge of SQL, Python, or R programming languages.
- Familiarity with BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker Studio.
- Basic grasp of data visualization principles and dashboard construction.
- Experience with Excel functionalities like Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Power Query, and charting.
- An understanding of databases, ETL concepts, and cloud services (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is advantageous.
- Exposure to academic projects, internships, or portfolio pieces demonstrating data analytics capability is a bonus but not mandatory.
