Role Overview and Responsibilities
- Create and maintain comprehensive GIS databases.
- Conduct spatial data analysis and develop detailed maps concerning climate risk, vulnerability, and land usage.
- Incorporate remote sensing and other geospatial datasets for comprehensive analyses.
- Design and develop web-based GIS dashboards and decision-support systems.
- Analyze diverse datasets encompassing demographics, infrastructure, and environmental factors.
- Contribute to emissions tracking and climate-related analytics.
- Define and uphold data quality standards and governance protocols including metadata development.
- Generate thematic maps and vivid visual representations for communication purposes.
- Assist in scenario modeling and predictive forecasting exercises.
- Deliver training and capacity building for government officials on GIS tool usage and applications.
- Collaborate closely with domain specialists to integrate sector-specific insights.
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation and spatial data outputs.
- Support the development and maintenance of monitoring dashboards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Master's degree in GIS, Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, Geography, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- Certification in GIS is preferred.
- Proven experience ranging from 5 to 10 years working with GIS, remote sensing, spatial analytics, and urban or climate data systems.
Work Locations
This role covers multiple Indian states: Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Goa, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Sikkim.
