Role Overview
Minor Hotels' Queenstown Club Suites is seeking a seasoned and motivated General Manager to lead its upcoming reopening after an extensive refurbishment. This exceptional opportunity allows a passionate hospitality leader to chart the future of an iconic property by overseeing its relaunch, revitalizing its market position, fostering a high-performing team culture, and consistently delivering superior guest experiences from the outset.
In this pivotal leadership position, you will assume full responsibility for operational excellence, financial results, staff engagement, and long-term strategic growth. The role demands a proactive, hands-on leader adept at navigating dynamic environments and driving the property through a transformative growth phase.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the reopening and ongoing operations ensuring smooth experiences for guests and staff alike.
- Manage day-to-day hotel operations to maintain exceptional standards in presentation, service quality, and financial outcomes.
- Design and execute strategic revenue generation plans to optimize business performance.
- Lead, support, and develop department heads spanning Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Front Office teams.
- Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders including Body Corporate, Strata Managers, and local partners.
- Ensure strict adherence to Work Health & Safety, licensing, and maintenance obligations.
- Identify operational enhancement opportunities and develop strategic procedures for continuous improvement.
- Drive staff motivation and leadership to uphold a culture of high performance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven track record as a General Manager or senior operations leader within hotels, resorts, or serviced apartments.
- Experience leading hotel openings, reopenings, refurbishments, or significant business transitions is highly valued.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Body Corporate and strata management responsibilities and stakeholder engagement is advantageous.
- Holding tertiary qualifications in Hospitality or Business Management.
- In-depth understanding of the hospitality industry markets is beneficial.
- Strong financial and commercial skills including budgeting, forecasting, and revenue optimization expertise.
- Passion for people leadership, team development, and driving operational performance.
- Excellent communication prowess with ability to engage varied stakeholders.
- Guest-centric attitude combined with enthusiasm, professionalism, and vigor to lead a premier regional hotel.
