About the Role and Company

DPD UK invites you to become part of their commitment to sustainability and exceptional customer service at their Hub 4 facility located in Hinckley, UK. As a vital member of a fast-paced and supportive team, you will help ensure seamless gatehouse operations within the company's East Midlands hub. Work Schedule and Location

  • Permanent contract with 40.25 hours per week averaged over the year
  • Work pattern follows 4 days on and 4 days off
  • Shifts run from 06:00 to 18:00
  • Location: DPD Hub 4, Logix Road, Hinckley, LE10 3BQ

Primary Responsibilities

  • Control access by authorizing vehicles inclusive of DPD, subcontractors, and delivery vehicles entering and leaving the site
  • Maintain effective communication with departments regarding vehicle movements
  • Conduct physical inspections of vehicle details and seals, especially for reported empty trailers
  • Verify the functionality of trailer locking mechanisms
  • Work collaboratively with the security team to execute excellent customer service and security at the gatehouse
  • Coordinate activities involving contractors, employees, and visitors
  • Liaise with emergency services and third-party organizations as necessary

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Experience in a related role is advantageous; comprehensive training will be available
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal abilities to engage effectively with staff, international drivers, and visitors daily
  • Responsible and trustworthy approach with pride in daily tasks
  • Proactive use of initiative and adherence to procedures and guidelines
  • Professional demeanor and appearance when required
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts according to roster needs
  • Supportive team orientation

  • Competency in computer usage
  • Ability to work at two hub locations on short notice
