Freight Coordinator

Mineral Resources' Distribution Centre located in High Wycombe is looking for a proactive and detail-driven Freight Coordinator to join its committed team. Reporting directly to the Logistics Manager, this role is crucial in ensuring efficient and compliant transport of domestic freight primarily between Perth and mining areas within Western Australia.

Role Overview

This role demands a customer-centered approach within a fast-paced setting where priorities often change. The successful candidate must be adaptable, systematic, and capable of juggling multiple responsibilities at once, emphasizing relationship management, problem-solving, and acute attention to detail.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• End-to-end coordination of freight bookings, including road and air transport, utilizing Bustle P2P Transport Management System along with third-party booking platforms.
• Preparation and management of all necessary transport-related paperwork.
• Monitoring consignments for timely and precise delivery.
• Performing freight cost reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and transparency.
• Collaborating with internal teams to aid operational needs and resolve freight issues.
• Participating in ongoing improvement initiatives to optimize freight procedures and service quality.
• Ensuring compliance with Chain of Responsibility regulations and all relevant transport laws.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Demonstrated experience in freight or logistics, preferably with exposure to the mining or resources industry.
• Familiarity with transport management systems, particularly Bustle TMF, is highly desirable.
• Comprehensive understanding of freight documentation and regulatory compliance, including Chain of Responsibility and dangerous goods protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with carriers, internal stakeholders, and external partners.
• Strong organizational skills combined with meticulous attention to detail and effective time management.
• Competent in Microsoft Office at an intermediate to advanced level.
• Knowledge of Western Australian mining supply routes and freight operations for remote sites would be advantageous.
• Preferred but not mandatory are relevant certifications in logistics, transportation, or administration.
