Role Overview
The FP&A Manager will collaborate closely with operational and commercial teams, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis across the group. A significant part of the role involves detailed stock and margin examinations, business partnership duties, and contributing to acquisition activities. This role demands strong analytical skills, commercial acumen, and the capability to work across various regions, especially Spanish-speaking markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the preparation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and extended planning processes.
- Maintain finance models aiding decision-making for operations, supply chain, and commercial divisions.
- Deliver actionable summaries on profitability, cost factors, and performance trends.
- Manage the monthly performance cycle, including reviewing results, projecting future outcomes, and identifying risks or opportunities.
- Conduct proactive stock assessments centered on inventory turnover, aging, slow-moving and obsolete stock, and their impact on future results.
- Collaborate intimately with Supply Chain and Operations to analyze stock trends, recognize risks and opportunities, and evaluate effects on working capital.
- Evaluate gross margin movements by product category, region, and customer base, extending beyond variance analysis to spotlight risks and possibilities.
- Facilitate working capital enhancement and cash flow forecasting accuracy.
- Serve as a finance partner to senior operational and commercial stakeholders.
- Assist business leaders with investment appraisals and scenario planning for new projects, market expansions, and operational shifts.
- Support finance partnerships with central functions such as IT and Marketing regarding budgets, forecasts, long-term planning, and evaluating ROI/value for money.
- Enhance clarity and transparency on current run-rate expenses versus project spending.
- Promote cost efficiency and value, constructively challenging assumptions while supporting business goal achievement.
- Collaborate with Corporate Finance on acquisition assessments, including financial modeling, valuation aid, and sensitivity checks.
- Support tracking post-acquisition performances to verify synergies and assumptions against actual results.
- Work alongside international finance teams, notably within Spanish-speaking markets.
- Engage in site visits and operational reviews where needed.
- Be willing to undertake international travel as necessary, approximately 15-20% of the time.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certified accountant qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Over five years of FP&A experience within a multinational company.
- Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and management reporting.
- Proven ability to function as a commercial finance business partner.
- Extensive experience with stock, margin, and working capital analysis.
- Professional working proficiency in Spanish is highly advantageous.
- Availability to travel internationally up to 20% of working time.
