Forward Deployed Software Engineer

Role Overview

HCLSoftware is searching for a Domain and Product Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to join their Incubate Delivery team in Noida, India. This role focuses on customizing and configuring Incubate solutions to meet client-specific business needs. Acting on behalf of customers, the FDE transforms detailed designs into functional solutions by designing workflows, orchestrations, workbenches, and implementing use cases informed by deep domain and product knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement customer-centric solutions within Incubate products, including workflows, orchestrations, workbenches, agents, and process-based use cases.
• Interpret documented requirements and designs from the Context and Data Strategist to deliver working configurations aligned with business goals.
• Exercise sound judgment regarding when to use standard configurations, extend, customize, or challenge requirements to best meet client outcomes without unnecessary development.
• Collaborate with AI Orchestration and Engineering teams for integration tasks such as API connectivity or technical builds beyond product capabilities.
• Support quality assurance by ensuring solutions are testable, traceable, and validated against acceptance criteria.
• Participate actively in delivery calls and technical discussions, providing expert product and domain input without direct customer communication.
• Enhance reuse and maturity of solution patterns, configuration methods, and domain knowledge across projects.
• Configure behavioural controls governing AI agent operation, including prompt templates, personas, business guardrails, and escalation logic aligned with client context.

Domain Expertise and Product Fluency

• Apply comprehensive domain understanding to ensure solution configurations accurately reflect customer processes and workflows.
• Maintain up-to-date expertise in Incubate products, tooling, and configuration approaches.
• Advise internal stakeholders on requirement feasibility based on domain insight and product capabilities.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to review and refine AI agent behaviors and configuration iteratively.

Collaboration and Delivery Integration

• Work integrally with cross-functional teams including AI Orchestration, Engineering, Context and Data Strategist, and Quality teams to deliver successful solutions.
• Support solution demonstrations and coordinate with fellow Domain and Product FDEs across parallel workstreams.

Quality, Testing and Handover

• Ensure that configurations conform to standards supporting efficient testing and quality validation.
• Assist in go-live preparations, including documentation, configuration records, and transition materials for operational phases.
• Contribute to ongoing solution refinement post-launch as needed.

Knowledge Sharing

• Develop and document reusable configuration patterns and domain-specific knowledge.
• Share expertise widely to enhance consistent delivery capabilities across the function.

Candidate Profile

Applicants should have prior experience in product configuration, solution delivery, or as domain specialists within enterprise software environments. Candidates must exhibit strong understanding of AI-centred delivery, orchestration, and underlying product architectures to configure solutions without excessive custom development while ensuring alignment to customer business objectives.

Salary Range: INR 2,500,000 to INR 3,500,000 annually.
